I am honored to serve as public policy chairman for our state. President Ann Durall and GFWC President Jackie Pierce are going to put special emphasis in this area and we will be trying to work in all other departments into the legislation that is on the books and what is needed to accomplish the goals of GFWC.

We will be working with our Southeastern Region representative Jane Carver and with our International Representative Deen Meloro who will be keeping us informed on what is going on “on the hill” that is of interest to us and encourage us to use this information. We will also try to keep up with what is going on in the State and local governments to make our voices heard to improve some of the legislation in our own government. We are looking forward to incorporating a legislative day with our Spring Convention in Nashville in April 2007.

Please check your local newspapers to get the names and addresses of your local officials and keep up with what is going through legislature. Together we will pursue issues that benefit the community.
