    Tennessee Clubwomen are challenged to earn a GFWC STAR and become a MEMBERSHIP STAR OF TN during the 2004-2006 administration. (Serving Tennessee And Recruiting * Retaining * Rebuilding Successfully)

    ACT in OCT is the GFWC emphasis. The 2005 theme for challenging every club to recruit is “5 To Thrive in Oct. 05”.

    New Member Packets have been put together to help assimilate the new members into clubs. Packets are free to new members joining from August 04, 2005 to March 06, 2006. All clubs need to send the name and address of new member/s to the Chairman (Della Gowan) in order for the new member/s to receive the packet and should do so following the initiation of the new member.

    Junior Clubs will also emphasize “Looking to the Future: Organizing GFWC Juniorette Clubs; retention – stay in contact, mentor, Make Membership Fun, involve all members in at least one project and remember they are volunteers – not numbers.

GFWC of TN Awards for Members:

    Rookie of the Year Award – An award to promote volunteerism and to give recognition to outstanding new members who have joined the club from March to February.

    District Award for Growth – This award goes to the district with the largest increase in membership for the reporting year. Membership increase includes Junior, Juniorette and General figures only. Statistics will be re-ported by the State Treasurer.

    Outstanding Club Woman Award – This annual award is given by GFWC of TN to a club woman who has gone beyond to serve her club, district, state and community from March 1 – February 15 of each year.

    Tribute of Honor Award – An annual award based upon continued service of members who have served club, district and state over a minimum of 10 years. It is not given posthumously and is limited to 5 awards per year. Honorees are chosen by committee.

    Junior Service Award – A two year award to be given in 2006 for continued service of junior members who have served club, district and state over a number of years.

Reporting Information:

    Names of STAR Recruiters: Send list of recruiters to Della Gowan who orders pins from GFWC. Include information in the membership report(s) to Della and Tona Turpin.

    Act in Oct: Clubs achieving goals must notify GFWC Headquarters by December 1.

    Membership Reports: All clubs should send to Della Gowan and to their district chairman by February 15. Junior clubs should send an additional report to Tona Turpin.

    Rookie of the Year: All general clubs send nominee’s report with cover sheet to Della by March 1.

    Outstanding Club Woman: All general clubs send nominee’s report with cover sheet to Della by March 1.

    Tribute of Honor Award: All general clubs send nominees to President, Mary Love Coley by March 1.
