CONSERVATION:
Beautification

OBJECTIVE: Educate
members about the importance of beautifying their communities and
stimulate citizen action to address these concerns.
SUGGESTED PROJECTS

Conserve, preserve, and restore green
spaces.

Partner with Keep American Beautiful
focusing on litter removal and prevention projects.

Participate in adopt-a-highway
programs, National Arbor Day projects, landscaping and planting
wildflowers in city green ways and along highways.

Respect the unique beauty of our
state and work diligently to create and preserve that beauty. Enlist the
aide of local and government officials in enforcing litter laws.

Restore and maintain landscaping for
community schools, libraries, veteran’s memorials, historical landmarks,
and government buildings.

Create and maintain serenity gardens.
Hang bird feeders outside nursing homes.

Educate members and the community
through seminars, building outdoor conservation classrooms, assist
students with conservation projects, and provide gardening baskets and
tools to Habitat for Humanity home recipients.
